At the Housing Authority of Pompano Beach, our commitment to community extends far beyond providing a place to live.
We believe strong communities are created when people have access to the resources, knowledge, technology and opportunities they need to move forward. That’s why HAPB works with community organizations, businesses and local partners to bring meaningful programs and experiences directly to our residents.
From helping young people prepare for a technology-driven future to strengthening financial knowledge and providing essential resources for families, our goal is simple: help the people we serve thrive.
Preparing Our Youth for What's Next.
Technology is changing how we learn, work and live—and we want our young people prepared to be part of that future.
Through our partnership with the Figgers Foundation, HAPB has provided youth with hands-on technology education covering computer fundamentals, internet safety, productivity tools, digital literacy and artificial intelligence.
Participants have learned practical skills such as AI prompting and responsible technology use, helping them build confidence and gain exposure to tools that are increasingly important in school and the workplace.
The program has also helped expand digital access by providing participating students with technology they can continue using beyond the classroom.
We’re not simply teaching technology. We’re helping young people see what’s possible.
Financial Literacy & Empowerment
Financial stability begins with understanding how to make informed decisions about money.
HAPB’s financial literacy programming helps connect residents with practical education designed to strengthen their understanding of budgeting, saving, credit, financial planning and other fundamentals of building a stronger financial future.
Meeting Families Where They Are.
Sometimes making a difference starts with meeting a very immediate need.
Through community events, partnerships and initiatives such as shoe and essential-item giveaways, HAPB works to help families access resources that can ease everyday financial pressures and help children feel prepared and confident.
These efforts also create something equally important: opportunities for families, neighbors and community partners to come together.
