A Community Built with Purpose
Golden Villas and Golden Square grew from HAPB’s commitment to rebuilding stronger after Hurricane Wilma caused significant damage to the Blanche Ely Estates and Ben Turner Ridge public housing communities.
That challenge created an opportunity to envision something new. In 2006, HAPB was awarded highly competitive Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) through the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, helping transform 31 acres into the beautiful affordable rental community that stands today.
